It really is a 'book' in the traditional sense of the word. More than just a 'workbook,' it is more like a 'handbook' because it provides detailed instructions for teaching analytical writing using both online and actual written examples. It also contains a checklist, a glossary, some practice essays, and three or four helpful exercises. There are several pages of instruction in each chapter, and nea rly every chapter ends with a list of suggested topics and strategies to use. There are also a glossary and exercises at the end of each chapter that allow you to practice any of the topics or strategies included.For example, in Chapter Three, 'Analytical Thinking,' you get nine strategies to use for dealing with the topic of how people think. The chapter also includes a six-step checklist that you can use to implement the strategies, which is most certainly an excellent and valuable way to use the techniques. In the next chapter, 'Effective Reporting and Remuneration,' you can find a brief introduction and list of the most common kinds of problems that lead to making mistakes in sales and management. In chapter four, 'Public Speaking,' you learn about the importance of using stories as your primary method of persuasion. In chapter five, you find out how to use your personal story in a business meeting and in public speaking in order to increase your chances of success.Some of the t opics covered in this book are everything from business models to leadership styles, leadership skills, decision making, and organizational development. I think that there is something for everyone, even though they will most likely find that there are many strategies for teaching them. I will say, however, that some strategies in this book are more complicated than others. That is why I recommend that you use the examples in the resource box provided as a guide, and not as gospel.Before I continue, I should point out that there are several other books that are better than this one for students, and I strongly recommend that you seek one of them out.
